Habitat:
Native to Europe, North Africa, northern Asia, and the Americas. It prefers damp soil and can be found growing along streams.
Key Benefits:
Horsetail is high in one particular nutrient, silica, which provides much of its medicinal benefit. Silica helps strengthen bones and regenerate connective tissue, making horsetail an excellent plant for supporting hair, skin, teeth, and nail health. It can also be helpful for fractures and the early stages of osteoporosis. As a diuretic and astringent, it is useful for the urinary system for urinary tract bleeding, enuresis, incontinence, bladder irritation, UTIs, bladder infections, and an inflamed prostate gland.
