Avery Apothecary started in my kitchen as a personal quest to regulate my hormones, remove toxic products from my life and ease my relentless PCOS symptoms. While plenty has changed since those days, one thing remains constant: our sky-high standards for herb quality.
We partner with local US herb farmers and suppliers to hand pick pesticide free, lovingly grown herbs. We only use certified organic herbs except in the case of a few herbs that are sustainably wildcrafted.
That’s because we care about creating pure products that are free from mold, pesticides, heavy metals and other contaminants; which can actually exacerbate health issues. Herbs and ingredients that are good for the people and the planet.
WHy low-tox living is essential
When trying to support our body through a health condition or even when just working for vitality and wellness, it is absolutely crucial to pay attention to what we are consuming and putting on our body.
There is no arguing that we are exposing ourselves to increasing amounts of toxins in our modern environment — many of which are damaging our health in ways we may not even fully understand yet. So our apothecary was founded with purity and simplicity in mind. Taking it back to basics.

Hey, I’m Avery
My journey began as a personal quest to rid my life of everyday toxins in an effort to heal my body naturally. Along the way, I discovered the potent power of healing herbs – a journey so transformative and enlivening, it’s become my life’s work to share it with you.
Through the incredible power of herbs and holistic living, I was able to free myself from debilitating hormone issues after years of suffering in silence. I know how frustrating it is to feel like you’re at the mercy of your own body.
For years, I viewed my body as the enemy – betrayed by its own functions. I spent years in and out of doctor’s offices with little to no support and always feeling left in the dark. I really wondered if this was how I was going to spend the rest of my life - scared of my body and what it was going to do. Horrible period pain or wildly irregular periods that either never came or lasted for weeks on end. Chronically exhausted but unable to sleep with little motivation for anything. Addicted to caffeine, and fast food. A constant brain fog and crippling depression.
Eventually, I realized I was the expert of my own body and I started to take my power back. I finally began to tune in to my intuition and listen to my body. And along this journey, I found the best mentor anyone could ask for — Mother Nature. Everything in nature is always striving for homeostasis and there is an innate intelligence that serves as a wonderful mirror for human health.
Living in alignment with Mother Nature is finding a way to honor her and ourselves in every aspect of life from what we eat to the personal care products we put on our skin to the cleaners we use in our homes — and everything in between.
Over the past decade, I’ve immersed myself in the study of herbalism, nutrition, and hormones. I also became a certified holistic health coach and now it’s my mission to guide women in taking back their health and their lives. With Avery Apothecary, I aim to provide a sanctuary for all-natural healing, where ancient herbal wisdom seamlessly integrates with a mindful, modern lifestyle.

How do you source your herbs?
We partner with local U.S. herb farmers and trusted suppliers who share our values around purity, sustainability, and ethical harvesting. Most of our herbs are certified organic, and a select few are sustainably wildcrafted when that’s the most traditional and effective way to source them.
We only work with trusted herbal companies and organic farms that share our commitment to purity, sustainability, and traditional herbal wisdom.
Our herbs are always:

What does "certified organic" mean?
“Certified organic” means that a product was grown and processed according to strict standards set by the USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP). To be certified, both the farms and facilities involved in growing, handling, or packaging the herbs must be inspected by a USDA-accredited certifying body and meet rigorous standards that prohibit the use of synthetic pesticides, GMOs, and other contaminants.
Our herbs are certified organic at the time of purchase, and we work with trusted suppliers who meet these high standards and undergo regular inspections.
While we are not a certified organic blending facility at this time, all of the herbs we use in our products are certified organic, except a few herbs that are sustainably wildcrafted. This way only the best herbs land in our hands to craft beautiful, clean herbal products for you.
Are your products third-party tested?
We source herbs from trusted suppliers who conduct third-party testing to ensure purity, quality, and safety. These tests typically screen for contaminants like heavy metals, pesticide residues, mold, and bacteria.
We only source herb from companies who meet rigorous certified organic standards and who perform proper testing for potential contaminants.
While we do not currently conduct third-party testing in-house, we choose suppliers who go above and beyond with rigorous quality control. This way only the best herbs land in our hands to craft beautiful, clean herbal products for you.

How can I learn about possible contraindications with medicines?
While we do our best to include general safety notes and traditional herbal insights on each product page in the disclaimer, but we always recommend consulting with a qualified healthcare provider—especially if you're taking prescription medications, managing a health condition, pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Which of your products are safe for pregnancy?
At Avery Apothecary, we take pregnancy safety seriously and formulate with both traditional herbal wisdom and modern safety guidelines in mind. Some of our products are appropriate for use during pregnancy, while others are not recommended due to specific herbs that may stimulate the uterus, affect hormones, or aren't well studied in pregnancy.
We base our product guidance on traditional herbal wisdom as well as modern safety references like the AHPA Botanical Safety Handbook.
We recommend avoiding most herbs during the first trimester unless you’re working one-on-one with a qualified herbalist or practitioner.

At Avery Apothecary, we’re committed to safely supporting nursing mothers with gentle, nourishing herbal blends. Many of our products are safe and supportive during breastfeeding, while others contain herbs that may affect milk supply, alter breastmilk flavor, or interact with medications.
We base our product guidance on a blend of traditional herbal wisdom and modern safety references, including the AHPA Botanical Safety Handbook.
Every nursing mother and baby are unique, so if you're unsure, we always recommend consulting your midwife, lactation consultant, or a trusted herbalist.
