Habitat:

Key Benefits:
Marshmallow, rich in polysaccharides, is a mucilaginous herb that provides exceptional support to the mucosa. The mucous membranes, which line the digestive, urinary, respiratory, and reproductive systems, greatly benefit from marshmallows, especially when these areas are dry and inflamed. It is particularly effective for soothing conditions such as dry cough, cystitis, GERD, IBS, and esophagitis. While marshmallow flowers also possess mucilaginous properties, the root is especially demulcent. Additionally, as a vulnerary, marshmallow's soothing actions can be applied topically to address skin irritation, burns, inflammation, sores, and wounds. For best results, marshmallow is often prepared as a cold infusion.
Contraindications:
If marshmallow is taken before any drugs/medications, it can delay the absorption time.
